Congratulations to the January Students of the Month: Hunter Box, Taylor Cantrell, Hannah Collins, Brady Fair, Payton Hinson, Madilyn Kitchens, Hunter Meador, Madison Parfait, Sarah Roberts, Caleb Smith, Jonathan Stewart, and Katie Grace Willis. These students were selected based on their daily character and how they demonstrate their Choctaw PRIDE: Personal Best, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence.
ATTENTION BUS RIDERS: Effective starting TODAY! If you previously rode Bus #74, it is now Bus#91; if you previously rode Bus #75, it is now Bus #92.
The Juniors will take a practice ACT Test starting at 8am tomorrow. Please check your Class of 2020 Google Classroom for the testing location.

The Creative Writing Club will be selling baked goods and iced tea in the concession stand all week from 7:30-8.
The Creative Writing Club will meet Wednesday after school in the library.
Seniors: If you are planning to attend TCAT after graduation, please sign up to attend the TCAT Signing day in the Class of 2019 Google Classroom. TCAT signing will be held on February 21st at 9am.
Tennis tryouts will be held February 11th at 3:30 at the DCHS tennis courts. In case of inclement weather, tryouts will be held at the Newbern Armory from 3:30-5. You must have proof of a completed physical. If the school nurse has yours on file, please bring a note signed by her.
Become a Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard and be trained in Lifeguarding, First aid, CPR, and AED. All participants must be 15 years or older and must pass a pretest, which includes a 300-yard swim, a timed 10lb weight test, and 2 minute tread using only your legs. The cost of this class is $210 and the certification is valid for 2 years. Space is limited to 10 individuals per class. All registration and questions must be done by contacting Shelley Stout at (731) 881-7718 or sstout@utm.edu.

The DCHS Key Club recently completed their Christmas service project. 55 boxes were packed and delivered to Dyer County elementary schools to be delivered to students who may need extra food over the holiday break.

There will be a Horse Judging meeting this afternoon for any interested chapter members.
The cafeteria will be serving Christmas dinner for lunch tomorrow.
All History Club members please wear your club shirts for a yearbook picture tomorrow. The picture will be taken at the beginning of 3rd block in the commons.
Just a reminder that final exams will be given on December 20th and 21st. On December 20th, we will give exams 3, 5, & 6 and on December 21st we will give exams 1 & 2. No early exams will be given. If a student misses an exam, they must take it in before school or after school tutoring the week of January 7-11.

Congratulations to Molly Medling for being selected as the DAR Chapter representative. High school students from five schools in the area each selected a winner, and the Key Corner Chapter NSDAR selects an overall winner for their chapter. Molly will now be given the opportunity to enter the DAR Scholarship contest, where she will be eligible to win awards beyond the chapter level.
The December ACT has been rescheduled for tomorrow. The test will still count as a National ACT test since the original was cancelled due to inclement weather. If for some reason your schedule does not allow for you to retake the test on that day, you must contact ACT to reschedule it for another date. Students please make sure to bring a photo id, your ACT ticket, and your own calculator.

The December ACT has been rescheduled for this Saturday, December 15th. The test will still count as a National ACT test since the original was cancelled due to inclement weather. If for some reason your schedule does not allow for you to retake the test on that day, you must contact ACT to reschedule it for another date.
Due to the ACT being rescheduled for this Saturday, the Winter Formal time has been moved from 8-10 to 7-9 PM. Winter Formal tickets are on sale now for $10 per ticket. Please see any Coed Cheerleader to purchase your ticket. Anyone that wants to bring a date that does not attend school at DCHS will need to pick up a form to be completed and returned to the office by December 11th. Students that have had more than one day of ISS, OSS, or Alternative School are ineligible to attend the dance.

Since the ACT is rescheduled for this Saturday, Winter Formal time is moved to 7-9 pm Friday night instead of 8-10 pm.

The rescheduled ACT date for this past weekend’s cancelled test will be this Saturday, December 15th. This test will still count as a National ACT test since the original was cancelled for weather. If for some reason, your schedule does not allow for you to retake the test on that day, you can contact ACT to reschedule for a later date at no charge.

The Dyer County Fair Sorghum Valley Christmas will be held at the Fairgrounds on December 6th-9th from 6-9pm each night. Everyone is invited to come out for a night of holiday cheer!

Seniors: DCHS is hosting another FAFSA Frenzy Night tomorrow. It will be held in the Library from 5-8pm. Be sure to let your parent or guardian know ahead of time so they can attend with you. The Dyer County Fair Sorghum Valley Christmas will be held at the Fairgrounds on December 6th-9th from 6-9pm each night. Everyone is invited to come out for a night of holiday cheer!
