Dyer County High School Lady Choctaws Softball defeated Houston HS in the Sectional Tournament today 13-1 and advanced to the state tournament of the the 3rd consecutive year. The Lad Choctaws will play Ooltewah HS on Wednesday, May 22 at 10:00 at Starplex Field #1. The address for the Starplex Softball complex is 2302 Memorial Blvd., Murfreesboro, Tn. 37129. Alexis Fields will be competing in the discus at the State Tournament in Murfreesboro on Thursday, May 23 at 11:00. She will compete at Dean A. Congratulations to the Dyer County Softball Lady Choctaws on winning the 7AAA Regional Championship 5-4 versus Hardin Co. The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 at Dyer County High School Softball Field versus Houston High School in the Sectional Tournament with the winner advancing to the state tournament in Murfreesboro next week. The price of admission for Saturday's sectional game is $7.00. Only passes accepted will be a TSSAA Event Championship card or TACA card. One person will be admitted per card. Please come out and support the Lady Choctaws!!!!!

Daily Announcements May 15, 2019 The Dyer County Lady Choctaws Softball team defeated Arlington High School 7-6 in the 13 AAA Region Semifinals. The Lady Choctaws will travel to Hardin County tonight and play for the 13 AAA Region Championship 5:00 PM. Good luck ladies! You must have a signed permission form to attend. Forms are available in the Front Office. Rehearsal for graduation will be immediately following the senior walk. The before/after school tutoring programs last day will be this Friday, May 17th. Detention will still be held in the Library the morning on Tuesday, May 21st. If you have registered to take English Honors or AP Language and Composition, you need to pick up your summer work packet from either Mrs. Greenlee in room 1009 or from Mrs. Cheryl Palmer in the Guidance Office. Summer school will be June 3-June 14. Registration will be May 30th from 1-5 and May 31st 8-12. The cost will be $50 a course and a max of two courses. Student must have at least a 60 in a course in order to attend. Students must register before attending on June 3rd. Makeup exams will be held during Summer School. Students do not have to register for Summer School to take a makeup exam. The Dyer County Basketball teams are welcoming any DCHS students that would like to tryout for the 2019/2020 season. Tryouts will be Thursday, May 23rd. Girls will try out at 3:00pm and boys will tryout at 4:30pm. If you are planning to tryout you must have an arbiter athlete account created as well as your physical. Please see Coach McCord or any other basketball coach if you are interested Volleyball tryouts will be May 28th from 9-11 in the DCHS gym. New physicals and complete documentation in arbiter athlete must be completed prior to tryouts. If you plan to tryout, sign up with Coach O. DCHS Prom is Saturday, April 27th from 8:00pm - 11:00pm. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased by today! You can purchase tickets from Mrs. Chelsea in the front office before school, at break, or at lunch. Tickets can only be purchased by a DCHS Junior or Senior. Students attending prom cannot have had OSS, alternative school, or more than one day of ISS from December 17 through April 26. Students please make sure that you enter through the FRONT ENTRANCE only and park in the front parking lot. Everyone must also provide a photo ID for entrance into prom. Health History, Physical Examination, and Notary Forms with $10 must be turned in by Friday, April 26th in order for you to receive a school physical on May 15th. Football Cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on May 2nd & 3rd. Packets are available from Mrs. Powers, Mrs. King, and in the Front Office. You must have a current physical to tryout. Completed packets are due by April 29th. Late packets will not be accepted. Seniors: In order to be recognized for the Community Service Distinction, all documented hours must be turned in to the Guidance Office by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 30th. Seniors: The local scholarships are now available in the Guidance Office for you to pick up at your convenience. Please stop by to pick up applications and check for deadlines. They are also available in your google classroom as well. Seniors: If you have not paid your $5 National Honor Society dues, please do so by May 1st. If it is not paid, it will be turned in as a debt. Please pay all charges in the cafeteria as soon as possible. No charging will be allowed after May 1st. Seniors: Please make sure to fill out the Honors Day recognition form ASAP. You must fill out this form, along with documentation of your scholarship/awards, in order to be recognized at the Honors Day ceremony on May 14th. Freshmen: Dyer County Youth Leadership applications are now available. See Mrs. Cheryl in the Guidance Office or Mrs. Babbitt in room 2004 for an application.
